Pyjamarama is Mikro-Gen's 1984 platform adventure. Wally Week has fallen asleep and dreams he's wandering his house at night among objects that have come to life, hunting for a way to wake up before he's late for work.

In UsuArcade's ZX Spectrum Room you play it online, free, right in your browser: grab a desk, pick the tape off the shelf and, once the loading ritual is done, you're in.

History

It was Wally Week's second game, after Automania, and it was programmed by Chris Hinsley. Its big house full of doors, keys and objects you had to use in exactly the right place made it a classic of the Spectrum "arcade adventure."

Pyjamarama was followed by Everyone's a Wally and more adventures of the Week family, which made Wally one of the most likable characters on British 8-bit computers.

How to play

You guide Wally through the rooms, jump across furniture and pick up objects. He can only carry two at a time, so you have to think about what to take and where to use it. Many items open the way to other parts of the house. Watch out for anything that moves: every hit drains your energy.

Fun facts

  • It's the second game starring Wally Week.
  • Wally can only carry two objects at a time.
  • The final goal is to wind up the alarm clock so Wally wakes up.
